The Stone Genie Story

Not content with the (limited) opportunities available to them at the time, the initial stone genie pioneers (Josh Smith and Emma Welton), decided to pave their own way towards a goal that enabled them to be creative and turn their hobby into something more. What began through sheer enthusiasm for what they enjoyed; exploring the great outdoors with the people they loved, whether it be over land by feet or wheels or over water on a board. The crew grew tired however with confining their obsessions to conversation amongst friends, and the idea was born to create a tangible form of expression for those subjects that appealed to them the most.

Using whatever time, tools and techniques they could lay their hands on, Josh and Emma began to create products that they believed satisfied their high creative and semantic requirements. Inspired by a myriad of subjects that filled the team with the passion to represent and express, be it the appreciation of the natural world, love and respect for pushing the boundaries, or support/protest for a political position, the stage was set to transfer the ideas into the finished products. What you see here is the culmination of determination, inspiration and passion that encompassed the Stone Genie Crew. We hope that you enjoy the products as much as we do, and are able to relate to the subjects that have found their way into the designs.
